The "Cadet Squash League 2026, Season-02" was held today, Friday, May 22, in a highly grand and festive atmosphere at the Bashundhara Sports City in the capital. The day-long tournament featured the vibrant participation of 40 cadets from 12 cadet colleges across the country, transforming the event into a grand celebration of cadet fraternity. The inclusion of female cadets alongside male participants added a dynamic new dimension to the competition. The event commenced at 9:00 AM, followed by a press conference at 11:00 AM, and concluded with the prize distribution ceremony at 5:00 PM. The President of the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation and distinguished alumnus of Barisal Cadet College, Major General Muhammad Hasan-uz-Zaman, NDU, AFWC, PSC, M Phil, graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Also present at the event were Major General Abdul Matin (Retd.), President of the Faujdarhat Old Cadets Association (FOCA); Brigadier General G.M. Kamrul Islam, SPP (Retd.), General Secretary of the Federation; along with participants, alumni cadets, and journalists. While last year's inaugural tournament was held at the Dhaka Club, this year's Season-2 was organized on a much larger scale with nearly double the number of players. Organized by the "Cadet Squash Fraternity" with the cooperation of the Bangladesh Squash Federation, the venue partner for this second edition was Bashundhara Sports City, and the title sponsor was Marks Medical College. It is worth noting that this unique tournament brought together alumni from 11 out of the 12 cadet colleges in the country, who are currently pursuing higher education at various universities or established in different professions. Through highly competitive squash matches, these talented cadets not only showcased their sporting excellence and strengthened their bonds of friendship and brotherhood, but also practiced the discipline, tolerance, cooperation, and leadership skills they acquired during their college lives—qualities that will enrich their future journeys. Every single match, from the preliminary rounds to the finals, was intensely competitive. The General Secretary of the Federation, Brigadier General G.M. Kamrul Islam, SPP (Retd.), remarked that besides finding pure joy through sports, these highly talented and sharp cadets will hold prestigious positions across the country in the future and play a pivotal role in promoting and expanding the once-dying sport of squash in Bangladesh. The Chief Guest extended his sincere thanks to the organizers, as well as the Bashundhara Group and Max Group, expressing his optimism that the tournament will expand even further in the future, maintaining and accelerating this positive momentum.
